This is an outpatient procedure that treats Trigeminal Neuralgia with a minimally invasive technique. With the patient under general anesthesia a needle is placed into the cave of Mickel where the Trigeminal Nerve is housed. A small catheter is then thread through the needle into this space. The balloon is inflated to apply direct pressure to the nerve. The nerve’s ability to transmit pain is then disturbed and the patient awakes with improvement the neuralgia pain.
